Common issues and their solutions.

Recording Won't Start#

  1. Check permissions — Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording and ensure ClipMac is enabled
  2. Restart the app — Quit and reopen ClipMac
  3. Check for conflicts — Other screen recording apps may interfere

No Audio in Clips#

  1. Check System Audio permission — System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording
  2. Verify audio settings — On the dashboard sidebar, select "Audio" and ensure your audio mode is configured
  3. Test microphone — Use the live waveform test in the Audio section

Clips Are Choppy or Low Quality#

  1. Reduce buffer duration — On the dashboard sidebar, select "Recording" and lower the buffer setting
  2. Close other apps — Free up system resources
  3. Check video quality — In the Recording section, verify your video quality setting

Hotkeys Not Working#

  1. Check for conflicts — Other apps may use the same shortcuts
  2. Reset hotkeys — On the dashboard sidebar, select "Hotkeys" and customize to new keys
  3. Restart ClipMac — Re-registers global hotkeys

Upload Fails#

  1. Check internet connection — Stable connection required
  2. Verify storage quota — Check cloud storage limits in the Cloud section
  3. Try smaller file — Large files may timeout; try compressing first
