Editing clips
ClipMac includes a built-in video editor for enhancing your clips before sharing — trim, add overlays, zoom, and adjust audio.

Opening the Editor
- Locate a clip in your Clips Library
- Click the Edit button (pencil icon) or double-click the clip
- The editor opens with your clip loaded
Editor Features
Timeline
The timeline at the bottom shows your video with:
- Video track — Visual thumbnails of your footage
- Audio track — Waveform visualization for audio editing
- Playhead — Red marker showing current position
Use the timeline to navigate, trim, and preview your edits.
Overlays & Text
Add visual elements to your clips:
- Text overlays — Add titles, captions, or commentary
- Images — Import images as overlays
- Positioning — Drag elements anywhere on the canvas
- Timing — Set when overlays appear and disappear
Zoom Effects
Create dynamic zoom effects to highlight action:
- Click the zoom tool in the sidebar
- Draw a zoom area on the video
- Adjust timing in the timeline
- Preview and refine
Audio Controls
- Volume adjustment — Control system audio levels
- Audio normalization — Balance loud and quiet sections
- Mute sections — Silence unwanted audio
Exporting
When you're finished editing:
- Click Export in the top toolbar
- Choose your export quality
- Select a destination
- Click Export
Exported videos are saved to your Movies/Clippit/ folder by default.
